Greenvillage Passive Energy Living area, ’MODULAR’, 2011. Invited competition.
Our idea was to create a possibly new passive energy apartment housing prototype, in a very economical price category, with a new planning morphology, to suit. All of the apartments` main windows are south facing, in and effective range of ± 15 degrees. In consultation with Estonia`s best heating/ventilation specialists, the goal was to utulize renewable `free` sun energy directly through the windows to warm the cellular block walls, to achieve the Central-Europe passive development standard of ca 20% heating energy requirements.
