OFFICE BUILDING IN PÄRNU OLD-TOWN, 2007-2009.
At the very outer edge of the historic city centre of old Pärnu are two modest heritage buildings, one deemed for demolition, save for the intricate woodwork eaves at the rear facade (which we would like to feature in the interior of the new 2-storey atrium). The developer`s brief calls for linking the buildings internally, and enlarging the new one towards the rear while reinterpreting the front to enliven the street facade. The city has responded favourably, but the developer has put the project on hold due to the worldwide credit crunch. Team: Lembit Tork, Anu Lainus.
