’CAPTAIN’S VILLA’, RANNAMÕISA, 2001-2003, AREA: 518 m2
Amongst tall pines, 21 metres above the sea on a northern coastal bluff, a resort-like, Pacific style villa for a family of 5. 350 m2 of terraces and balconies in 7 locations around the house are connected by paths and rampways, following the sun and prevailing winds. A natural dip in the terrain suggested the private sunken court with lawn, exterior pool and hot-tub for year-round use. A 10 ton granite boulder hoisted out of the foundation hole is placed to the right of the goldfish pond. Exterior materials are Siberian larch, limestone, granite, copper roofing and details.
