`RETROHOUSE 1`, PÄÄSKÜLA ,TALLINN, 1998.
The owner is a fan of Independence era (I -II WW) Estonian architecture purchasing a unique wood-clad functionalist house for his family. It turned out that the wood structure was in such bad terrible shape the house had to be completely demolished. Finally, even the limestone half-basement collapsed. All that was left was a large sandy hole amidst the garden city pines. The new dwelling has the original`s exact massing, but added is a full basement with car parking, and a sympathetically proportioned one-story living room extension to the rear.
